New SAM UI: Changelog

This week’s been filled with updates here at Spacial, but none have been so marked as the SAM user interface. These new versions of our software don’t just boast a brand new look. They also count a number of improvements and changes. Here’s a rundown of what they are, along with modifications that were made to the June 1 versions that also came out.

Reminder: SAM Party DJ is now “SAM DJ” and SimpleCast is now “SAM Cast.”

SAM Broadcaster, v.4.9.0 – June 22, 2011

• New Spacial brand is launched, along with new SAM Broadcaster user interface
• Encoder timers show uptime days
• SHOUTcast 2.0 encoder ignores metadata when metadata is disabled
• “SAM>General>HTML Output” moved to “SAM>Tools>HTML Output” menu
• List your radio station on TuneIn.com with the new PAL script that ships with SAM; see TuneIn.pal inside PAL folder
• Improved sound card detection for microphone configuration
• Improved “Search” window
• Improved “Apply to Album” function
• SoundFX now has space for 16 items
• You can set the air/cue mute and volume control directly from the toolbar
• Default layout is always stored on exit
• New layout extension of *.sul
• Huge speed improvement when closing EQ/AGC/DSP configuration screen
• The user interface forces windows to show inside visible area

SAM Broadcaster, v.4.8.0 – June 1, 2011

• SHOUTcast 2.0 encoder support
• SHOUTcast 2.0 statistic relay support
• Minor updates to PHP Web Template
• Added index to requestlist table for improved query performance on web template
• Royalty reports for France (SPPF, SCPP, SACEM)
• Changed backup method to be compatible with MySQL v5.5 or later
• Icecast2 statistic relay support fixed for certain builds of Icecast. (KH builds)
• Added support for multiple VHosts for Wowza statistic relays
